Explore these resources from MARC's Environment programs to develop green habits for a more vibrant region.

Recycle More with RecycleSpot

RecycleSpot is your one-stop spot for recycling just about anything.

At RecycleSpot you can find what items go in your curbside bin and where to recycle televisions, batteries, Styrofoam™, cardboard, plastics and much more. You can also discover places to donate gently used items and innovative ways to reduce waste and reuse items you already have.

Safely dispose of household hazardous waste

Safe disposal of HHW is important to protecting the health and safety of our homes, children, pets, communities, wildlife and environment. These items should never be disposed of in the trash or poured down the drain. Instead, you should take them to a designated HHW facility or mobile event.

Reduce food waste

Food waste has an enormous negative impact on our community, economy and the environment. Kansas City Food Wise is a new regional website that aims to reduce food waste and build a sustainable food system in the metro.

Explore the comprehensive food system map to find your nearest urban farm, compost operation, farmers market, community garden, food pantry and more.

Visit the Take Action section to learn simple ways to reduce food waste and save money.

Find a community event

Get involved this Earth Day! Whether you're looking for a way to recycle or responsibly dispose of items, or get more involved in our local food system, both Recyclespot and KC Food Wise have event calendars.
