About the Community Leadership Program
The City of Kansas City, Missouri's Neighborhood and Community Services Department, has partnered with the Mid-America Regional Council's Government Training Institute (GTI), to create a community leadership program for the city's neighborhood association members, and all city residents who want to develop, or build upon, the essential skills of an effective community leader.
The CLP represents a new beginning for our city and its local communities — we are excited to launch this new training opportunity and introduce its progressive certificate programs and the highly-regarded instructors and coaches who have been chosen to guide you to the next level of your leadership development.

Who should participate?
The program is only offered to Kansas City, Mo., residents at this time. Participants may represent a wide variety of neighborhood and community groups, or individual residents with a strong desire to become community leaders.
Benefits
The CLP will provide community leaders with the tools to make informed decisions, resolve conflicts, facilitate meetings, convey ideas, understand and motivate others, avoid pitfalls, gain cooperation, improve relationships and earn trust and respect, while building a stronger community.
The intended outcome of the curriculum is a more committed and effective network of leaders and organizations who are prepared to guide the city, and its local communities and residents, into the future.
Cost
There is no fee for this program. It is funded by the Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhood and Community Services Department.
