For individuals: AIRQ CHAMPION

PGAV Architects alternative commute team

Carpooling and biking helps reduce emissions, which leads to cleaner air. This group from PGAV Architects formed a team to reduce emissions during the 2008 Green Commute Challenge.

Do you know someone who regularly carpools, bikes to work, and always turns off their engine when they're waiting for more than 30 seconds? If so, this recognition is for them.

An AirQ Champion is named twice per year. The deadline for this round of nominations is July 31.

For organizations: AIRQ CHALLENGE

Business and air quality

Businesses that retrofit or modernize their equipment to reduce emissions are one example of organizations that can be recognized through the AirQ Challenge program.

Has your workplace started a carpooling program for its employees, held green fairs, switched to renewable power, used hybrids or retrofitted its fleet? We're looking for organizations that have taken steps to reduce emissions — and encourage their employees to do the same.

This recognition is given out twice per year. The deadline for this round of nominations is July 31.
