Green practices within the community
To reach its goal of improving energy efficiency in the region, the REECS consortium first needed to obtain an accurate portrayal of where the Greater Kansas City region stands with regards to energy efficiency and conservation. To acquire such a portrait, MARC staff gathered information from the 10 communities, all of whom are members of the REECS.
The information below is designed to serve as an information depot for sustainable practices throughout the region. The categories listed below are not to be considered as the only areas related to energy efficiency and conservation; neither are the findings contained within the categories to be considered an exhaustive report of all of the 10 municipalities’ policies. Rather, the categories were chosen due to their correspondence with the eight goals contained within the White Paper submitted by MARC. It is the consortium's hope that the contents of this report will aid government officials in creating a more sustainable Kansas City region. (Download this report as a PDF.)
