Federal program overview

In general, recovery funds for transportation investments will flow through existing federal programs.

The bill includes $47 billion for transportation programs.

$1.5 bilion for a competitive grant program for highway, transit, rail and port projects
$1.3 billion for aviation
$27.5 billion for highways
$6.9 billion for transit capital
$0.75 billion for fixed guideway transit
$8 billion for high speed rail and intercity passenger rail service
$1.3 billion for Amtrak
$0.1 billion for small shipyards
