What you'll learn:

Participants will learn from local and national experts the latest approaches to energy efficiency and conservation, including an overview of national trends and best practices in areas such as sustainable urban planning and design, green building and energy codes.

In each of the sessions, facilitated discussions will allow attendees to participate in developing a toolbox that can be used by communities across the region to support energy efficiency, energy conservation and local renewable-energy production.

Instructors:

David Eisenberg is director of the Development Center for Appropriate Technology (DCAT) in Tucson, Ariz. For over a decade, he has led the effort to create a sustainable context for building codes, receiving national recognition from both the building-codes and green-building communities for his vision and leadership.

Anthony Novelli is the assistant director at DCAT. He brings a wealth of local government policy experience to support his current responsibilities, which include strategic planning, project management and partnership development.

Phaedra Svec is an associate at BNIM Architects. She is a LEED-Accredited Professional with 15 years of experience focused on sustainable community consulting and research, LEED-policy implementation, material selection and specification, and sustainable sites and infrastructure.
