EPA Resource Conservation
Challenge Web Academy
Recycling and Solid Waste Management Education Series
Join us for a yearlong Recycling and Solid Waste Management Educational series hosted by MARC and EPA Region 7. The goal of the web academy is to give you information and tools to decrease waste, increase reuse, recycling and waste reduction, and conserve energy and materials. This program is for state and local government waste management and recycling professionals, not-for-profit organizations supporting solid waste management systems.
Sessions will be held every third Thursday of the month from noon to 1:30. Join us at the MARC offices for a "lunch and learn" networking experience or you can register through the EPA's Web site and participate in the discussion from your own desk.
Learn about key issues, successful projects, and best management practices of stellar waste management programs. Conference calls, in conjunction with PowerPoint presentations allow you to hear from experts around the country on what works and what doesn't to make your program more successful. The format for the calls will be a formal presentation followed by a question answer session and discussion time. You can submit questions to the speakers, via e-mail or fax, both in advance of and during the sessions.
Schedule
The MARC Solid Waste Management District has selected some sessions over the next year to include local experts in a panel discussion following the formal presentation. Those listed as "brown bag lunch" are free. Others are paid workshops.
