What you'll learn:
This workshop will include a 1.5-hour web presentation co-sponsored by EPA Region 7 and MARC Solid Waste Management District followed by a panel discussion.
Every purchase we make has an environmental impact – with each purchase we are either contributing to or helping prevent the environmental problems currently plaguing the planet. Many local governments are examining their operational practices in an effort to become a more sustainable organization. A key component of sustainability is eco-purchasing, which incorporates environmental, cost, availability and performance concerns along with social and health considerations.
This workshop will help you discover how to:
- launch an EcoPurchasing Program
- take short cuts to identify eco products
- find suppliers
- change your customers' purchasing habits
- push prices down and calculate in the life cycle costs of products
- solve problems
- measure and reward success
This workshop is brought to you by the Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District, the United States Green Building Council and the Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7. Partial funding also provided by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
Instructor:
