What you’ll learn:

Join us for a series of American Planning Association audio conferences on topics of interest to area planning commissioners and planning professionals.

Participants will be able to submit questions to the speakers, via e-mail or fax, both in advance of and during the sessions.

Although some audio conferences are targeted to either commissioners or planners, both are welcome at all sessions. There is no charge for the audio conferences, but registration is required.

Informed Decisions: A Guide to Gathering Facts and Evidence
Feb. 15, 2012, 3–4:30 p.m.
Good decisions are based on strong supporting facts and evidence. Learn to gather the facts efficiently on site visits, from staff reports, and through testimony. Find out when site visits are legal and advisable as well as how to effectively organize and document them. Knowledgeable presenters discuss what should be included in staff reports. Learn techniques to maximize the efficiency of hearings and recording public testimony. Staff must prepare legally sound reports and you’ll learn how.
