What is a Senior Center?
A senior center is a dynamic place, which offers much more than a hot noon meal. Most senior centers offer a variety of recreational activities, that may include Bingo, exercise, art and craft classes, nutrition education, and more.
The MARC Department of Aging Services works with a number of senior centers throughout Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray Counties in Missouri. Each one is unique to its community and the people who participate
What are the Meals Like?
Each meal at a MARC-funded senior center has been carefully planned. Working with a registered dietician, the participants and the caterers, these hot meals are designed to meet at least one-third of the Recommended Daily Allowances.
Who is Eligible to Participate?
The MARC senior services have been developed to provide services to those who are aged 60 and over, as well as their eligible spouses. There are no predetermined fee scales. Participants are encouraged, however, to make voluntarily contributions toward the cost of the meal.
Ineligible participants (usually those under 60) will be required to pay the actual meal cost.

What if I Can't Go to a Center?
If you are unable to drive, transportation may be available to help you get to and from the senior center closest to you. Please contact the appropriate Senior Center Administrator for more information.
What About Home Delivered Meals?
If you are unable to go to a senior center due to physical or medical limitations, home delivered meals may be available to you. These hot meals are delivered from the senior centers, to an individual's home Monday through Friday.
