Tenth Annual Regional Assembly: Regional voices guiding regional choices

Keynote Speaker Norman Rice

MARC will hold its Tenth Annual Regional Assembly on Friday, June 2, 2006, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center, 2345 McGee, Kansas City, Missouri.

Norman Rice, former Seattle Mayor and past President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, will provide the keynote address on civic engagement in the 21st century.

MARC will also present its annual Regional Leadership Awards at the event. The awards honor community leaders who have advanced a vision of a strong, healthy region, demonstrated commitment to its growth, and encouraged others to support and work towards that vision.

Award winners for 2006:

• Jan Kreamer, former President, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation
• Ron Norris, Public Works director, Lenexa, Kansas
• Ted Stolfus, former mayor of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and past MARC Board Chair
• Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute
