MARC honors regional leaders

June 2, 2006

MARC presented four Regional Leadership Awards at its Tenth Annual Regional Assembly on Friday, June 2. The 2006 recipients were:

• Jan Kreamer, former President, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation
• Ron Norris, Public Works director, Lenexa
• Ted Stolfus, former mayor of Bonner Springs and past MARC Board Chair
• Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute

The awards honor community leaders who have advanced a vision of a strong, healthy region, demonstrated commitment to its growth, and encouraged others to support and work towards that vision.

The keynote address on civic engagement in the 21st century was given by Norman Rice, former Seattle Mayor.
