Participate in regional Bike-to-Work week events
May 12, 2006
The Kansas City area is a great place to get around on a bicycle, even on
your way to work. Biking to work helps reduce traffic congestion, keep the
air clean, and improve personal health. During the week of May 15-19, residents
are invited to participate in the Bike-to-Work week events.
Several regional events are planned throughout the week. See Bridging The Gap’s Web site for a complete schedule.
A team of MARC employees will participate in the Commuter Challenge.
Keep in mind that as the numbers of bicyclists on our roads increase, the issue of safety becomes a more serious concern — both for bicyclists and drivers of motorized vehicles. “Sharing the road” keeps our region’s bicycling facilities safe for all users. For more information, please visit the Share the Road Web site or contact Aaron Bartlett at 816/474-4240.
Bike to Work Week 2006 is brought to you by Clean Commute, a program of Bridging The Gap.
