Former Lenexa fire official receives David A. Garcia award
Dec. 19, 2007

MARCER, the Mid-America Regional Council Emergency Rescue Committee, presented the David A. Garcia Award to former Division Chief Richard K. Fagan, Lenexa Fire Department, on December 15, in recognition of his sustained and outstanding support to the field of emergency medical services in the Kansas City metropolitan area and to MARCER. Chief Fagan retired from the Lenexa Fire Department on November 30.
Chief Mark Bradford, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical, the new MARCER Chair presented the award at a luncheon meeting of MARCER members.
The Garcia award was established in 1995 by MARCER to honor MARC Environmental and Emergency Services Director David A. Garcia, who was killed in an automobile accident. The award, honoring Garcia’s strong contributions to regional emergency pre-hospital care, is intended to recognize exceptional contributions to the field of emergency medical services or the performance of an exceptionally valorous act.
