MARC launches new Managers Coaching Program

March 27, 2009

MARC's Government Training Institute, in cooperation with the Manager’s Roundtable, an organization of the area’s city and county managers and assistants, has just launched its Managers Coaching Program. The Coaching Program will match experienced and professional local government managers with public management protégés, individuals who are interested in advancing their management skills.

The program is guided by an advisory board of professional managers and potential protégés. The intent of the program is four-fold:

A number of professional managers have already signed up to be coaches. The program is now soliciting applications from potential protégés. Once received, MARC staff will match protégés with appropriate coaches. The program will provide training for coaches, will facilitate the coach/protégé relationship and will evaluate the progress of relationships. The program plans to expand its offerings once it has established the coach/protégé program. This may include networking meetings, online advice, and issue related forums.

For more information about the program visit the website or contact Georgia Nesselrode or Dean Katerndahl at 816/474-4240.
