MOHAKCA to host spring conference

The Metropolitan Official Health Agencies of the Kansas City Area (MOHAKCA) will host a half-day conference called "MAPPing Your Community's Health" on Friday, March 3. Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnership, or MAPP, is a community-wide strategic planning and implementation program for improving community health from the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO).

Heidi Deutsch, MAPP program manager at NACCHO, will provide the keynote address. Paul Campbell Erwin, East Tennessee Regional Health Office, and Cynthia Davis, Kansas City, Mo., Health Department, will talk about local applications of MAPP, and a state perspective will be provided by Howard Rodenberg, Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and Julia Eckstein, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

The event, to be held at the Johnson County Health Department Northeast Offices, 6000 Lamar, Mission, Kan., will begin with registration and continental breakfast at 7:45 a.m. The program will run from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The registration fee is $20.
