RecycleSpot.org – Your Spot for Regional Recycling Information

Did you know that about 100 different materials can be recycled in our area?

MARC is pleased to announce a new Web site that could benefit you and your community. RecycleSpot.org is a one-stop-shop for everything recycling in the Kansas City region. The site contains information for hundreds of recycling service providers, businesses and local communities in MARC’s eight-county region. Data is provided for communities with a population of 500 or greater.

RecycleSpot.org allows users to search for recycling options by:

• Material – If you have specific items you want to recycle, this option will take you to a list of categories and subcategories of materials that can be recycled in our region.
• City/County – This option provides a list of recycling and solid waste services sorted by each city and county in the MARC region for which information is available. The resulting page contains a comprehensive list of city services, trash haulers, recycling centers and household hazardous waste collection options.
• Address – This feature is still in production and is expected to be activated in October. It will allow you to search for facilities and services within a designated radius of an address. An interactive map will display the service providers for your selected materials.

The Web site was developed by the MARC Solid Waste Management District with the assistance of the Mid-America Regional Council. It is funded partially by grants from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Information in RecycleSpot.org is collected and maintained by the MARC Solid Waste Management District staff.
