Public recycling workshops
July 3, 2008
Do you have a recommendation that will make local recycling programs better? July is your chance to share it with other citizens, professionals and decision-makers.
One KC Voice, a community engagement program housed at MARC, is conducting the second phase of its "Landfilled" project — a series of five workshops that explore how solid waste programs, including local recycling programs, can be redesigned to better match residents’ values and lifestyles. The recommendations from the workshops will be given to the MARC Solid Waste Management District, which serves as a regional solid waste planning agency for local governments.
The workshops will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., July 14 to July 24, in Grandview; Roeland Park; Kansas City, Mo.; Independence; and Smithville. Light meals will be served. Registration is required for dinner. Each workshop will take themes from the community discussions held earlier and ask citizens for their recommendations for addressing those issues.
All of the workshops are open to the public. For more information or to register, visit the Workshops page.
