Surface Transportation Program and Bridge Program FY 2011-2012 Call for Projects

January 31, 2007

MARC is accepting applications for Surface Transportation Program (STP) and Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program (BR) projects in the MARC metropolitan planning area through March 23, 2007. Approximately $24 million will be programmed for federal fiscal years 2011 and 2012 in Kansas, and $18 million will be programmed in Missouri.

The STP and BR programs use federal sub-allocated funds to support a wide variety of transportation projects that maintain transportation infrastructure, increase modal choice, integrate projects into the community, and help manage roadway capacity.

Public agencies within the MARC metropolitan planning boundary are eligible to apply for the funds. Eligible types of projects include, but are not limited to:

Since these funding years are outside the extent of the current transportation legislation, there is some uncertainty about the level of funding available for programming. MARC will reference recent levels of funding to provide a reasonable estimate of the available resources for programming.

Projects recommended for funding by the Kansas and Missouri STP/BR Priorities Committees will be submitted for approval to the MARC Total Transportation Policy Committee (TTPC) and Board of Directors in late summer 2007 and incorporated into the Transportation Improvement program in fall 2007.
