Bike/Ped Planning in the Kansas City Region
Metrogreen – a
proposed 1,144-mile interconnected system of public and private open spaces
and greenway trails designed to link seven counties in the Kansas City metropolitan
area.
Transportation
Outlook 2030 – describes how the region will manage,
operate and invest in its multimodaltransportation system over the next
three decades.
While the plan is divided by specific transportation modes,
it promotes the integration of individual modes, facilities and services
into a single system that efficiently meets the access and mobility needs
of the Kansas City region.

Creating Quality Places – encourages sustainable design practices throughout the Kansas City area. Twenty principles were developed in 1999 through the work of four committees made up of elected and appointed officials, planning professionals, citizens, developers, builders, architects and engineers.
Information to facilitate implementation of these principles, case studies
documenting local and national project examples, model ordinances, design
standards and financing mechanisms can be found on the Web
site.
