ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System covers incident management strategies for emergency response to all-hazard incidents that involve Incident Command System (ICS) coordination. This course utilizes scenarios and exercises within a team environment to facilitate participant discussion. Prerequisites: Successful completion of accredited ICS-100 and ICS-200.

Course Objectives:

  • Explain how the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents.
  • Describe the ICS event management process for supervisors.
  • Develop and implement the incident management process on a simulated
    Type-3 incident.

ICS-400: Advanced Incident Command System, the final course in the four-part series, provides training on the advanced resource management requirements of the Incident Command System (ICS). Prerequisites: Successful completion of accredited ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-300.

Course Objectives:

  • Describe how Unified Command functions during a multi-jurisdiction,
    multi-agency incident.
  • Explain issues that influence incident complexity and the tools available for analyzing an incident.
  • Describe the responsibilities of agency representatives, their reporting relationships and how they can be used effectively during an incident.

Incident Command SystemWho should attend:

  • Command staff
  • Section chiefs
  • Strike-team, task force and unit leaders
  • Division/group supervisors
  • Branch directors
  • Multi-agency coordination system/emergency operations staff

State and local emergency personnel should decide who within their organizations should complete this training.

IMPORTANT: Priority registration is reserved for emergency services personnel within the nine-county Kansas City metropolitan area: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri and Leavenworth, Johnson, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas. Due to grant requirements, we are not able to accept registrations from outside the states of Kansas or Missouri.
