ICS-300, the third in a series of four Incident Command System courses, is designed for mid-level management personnel who will be serving in the following positions: command staff, section chiefs, strike team leaders, task force leaders, unit leaders, division/group supervisors, branch directors and multi-agency coordination system/emergency operations center staff.
The target audience is all emergency responders
including fire, EMS, emergency management, law enforcement, public
health and public works.
Objectives:
- Explain how the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Command and Management component supports the
management of expanding
incidents.
- Describe the incident/event management process for expanding incidents
and supervisors as prescribed by the Incident Command System.
- Implement the incident management process
on a simulated Type 3 incident.
- Develop an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.
NIMS/ICS-300 Training Requirement:
The completion of ICS-300 and ICS-400 training was a NIMS
implementation activity for FY07 for middle management and command
and general staff. For more information about NIMS compliance,
training guidelines and other NIMS-related information, visit
the FEMA
website. The
regional Training and Exercise Subcommittee is committed to providing
Incident Command System (ICS) training at no cost to local agencies
through the use of Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) training
funds. These funds are being used to provide this course to
help prepare the region's first responders and assist local jurisdictions
in meeting the required training guidelines. |
