Requirements for Paramedics and EMTs
Requirements
vary somewhat between Missouri and Kansas agencies. Most agencies
require applicants to meet the following qualifications:
- Must be
a U.S. Citizen
- Must have
a valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must have
a high school diploma or GED
- Must be at
least 21 years old for most agencies (some will hire at 18)
- Must have
valid state EMT or Paramedic certification
- Must have
effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
