Rules
Both of these programs are limited to Workplace Partnership members and their employees.
AirQ Champion
This program is conducted twice each year, once at the beginning of ozone season and once at the end. Nomination deadlines are subject to change. Please check the recognition program home page for details.
- You may not nominate yourself.
- Both the nominator and the nominee must work for an organization that is a member of the AirQ Workplace Partnership.
- The AirQ Champion will be an individual who uses public transit, rides his or her bike to work, encourages carpooling or takes other steps to improve Greater Kansas City's air quality.
- The Champion nominee will be judged solely on their individual behaviors and actions that reduce air pollution.
- An employee can be nominated during both of the nomination periods that occur in one year, but cannot be recognized more than once per calendar year.
- MARC Air Quality Program staff will contact each nominee to ask him or her about their efforts to reduce air pollution. The list of questions asked of each organization is standardized, and may be completed via an online form or over the phone. Questions will focus on the types of pollution-reducing actions the nominee takes, the frequency with which they take them, and how long they have been taking them.
