Planned Land Use
Planned land-use data, collected from local governments and other sources, is an important part of the "painting" process in Paint the Town and for all long-range forecasts.
MARC and the Technical Forecast Committee work with local governments to compile planned land-use data into a regional dataset. MARC has collected many land-use plans, though not all updates have been incorporated into the current version.
Members are asked to review data for their jurisdictions and submit changes as needed.
- As you review the planned land-use maps and submit changes, please keep in mind that, for the purposes of the Paint the Town project, we are creating a “build-out scenario” future land-use map. In other words, we are mapping what the land use of every parcel in the region will be when it develops, no matter how far into the future that may be.
Planned land-use maps are available for review as JPEG images and as internet maps. GIS data is available by request. Changes and updates may be submitted to MARC in any format, such as paper maps or digital images, but GIS data is preferred.
