Land-Use Subcommittee

The purpose of the Land-Use Subcommittee is to develop future land-use scenarios based on assumptions about land use and transportation choices.

First, the committee will develop land-use maps that depict our current plans for future land uses. (See planned land-use maps)

Second, the committee will develop a map that shows future land-use practices that correspond with the more-adaptive scenario (see scenario discussion on the Regional Subcommittee page) that assumes the region will have a greater ability to adapt to the four fundamental forces affecting the region's future:

Land uses fall into categories identified by the Paint Chip Subcommittee, which include agricultural, rural, urban fringe, residential, mixed use, industrial, office, commercial, parks and public use. Some categories are further broken down into low, medium and high densities.
