Local Government Fee Database

This database allows viewers to access information regarding the types and amounts of fees charged by counties and municipalities in the Kansas City metropolitan area. It is provided as a service to local governments to assist in budget preparation, as well as to serve as a source of information on fee amounts and formulas. In order to give viewers the most complete picture of fees in a city or county, the fees have been grouped into several different categories. Currently users can choose from building fees and planning and zoning fees. However, over the coming months, MARC will be asking local governments to add information for development and utility fees, parks and recreation fees, public works fees, and other fees.

The information is only useful if local governments enter data on a consistent and timely basis. Therefore, MARC encourages local governments in the Kansas City metro area to keep their fee information up to date and to use the database. In order to assure the security of the information a city or county must be registered before they can enter data. If your municipality or county would like to enter information into the database and you are not yet registered, please click on the Register button. This will take you to a brief form which you can submit online and MARC will then assign you a user name and password.

If your municipality already has been assigned a username and password and you would like to update your information or add new information please click on Submit/Edit Information.

If you would like to view fee information in the database please click on View Database. You can then select a category of fees to view and then select the cities or counties for which you would like information. In some cases, where the information permits, viewers will be able to compare fees across jurisdictions. If a city or county does not appear on the list of jurisdictions it means they have not submitted information for that category of fees.
