2008 Regional Cost-Sharing Project for Aerial Photography Now Underway
Project Overview
In 2006, members of KC Metro GIS participated in a successful cost-sharing project to obtain high-resolution aerial photography for the counties and cities within the MARC region. The success of this project was evident in the huge cost savings to participants. With this in mind, KC Metro GIS is currently formalizing plans to repeat the process in 2008.
The imagery produced for this project will be leaf-off, color, ortho-rectified, and at a 6-inch resolution. (Some rural areas may be captured at 1-foot resolution.) The imagery will be captured in late winter to early spring of 2008, processed, then delivered to the participants in the fall of the same year. A sample of the same type of product captured for the 2006 project is below.
