Newly Elected Officials Forum
Newly elected officials face many challenges immediately after election day. You must add public duties and responsibilities to an already full personal life. The Newly Elected Officials Forum provides practical tips, proven techniques and approaches to these new
obligations. Topics include:
- Handling and organizing paperwork and meetings
- Balancing public and personal life
- Best ways to relate to neighbors, staff, council colleagues, developers
- Media relations
- Freshman perspective
- Mid-America Regional Council and regional issues
Marge Vogt, city council woman for the City of Olathe, will facilitate the agenda and lead the discussion.
David Warm, executive director of MARC, will give a brief description of Mid-America Regional Council and answer questions about regional issues.
Each participant will receive a 70-page resource notebook.
