Safety Net Infrastructure Support Task Force

This is the number one priority area and reflects the need for core funding for safety net clinics.

The principle strategy revolves around articulating the need for funding for basic safety net clinic infrastructure before new initiatives can be successfully undertaken. Once this need is articulated the SNC can work with the foundations and other funders to develop strategies to meet this need. It is recommended that a new SNC committee be formed around this priority.

Charge:

• Craft and disseminate a message about the need for infrastructure support funding to local foundations and other stakeholders
• Document the continuing need of healthcare for the vulnerable population beyond 2013
• Develop shared outcome measures to reduce health disparities within the greater Kansas City area
• Position the SNC to maximize the benefits of payment delivery reform
• Investigate the potential for other funding sources including federal and national foundations
