International Affairs and Trade Office

In MARC's International Affairs Department, we work to foster and enhance a global focus for the Kansas City region. We collaborate, communicate and connect with a wide variety of regional, national and international government, business and academic partners to position and promote the region across the globe as a major player in international affairs and trade.

The Kansas City region has many accomplishments on the world stage and continues to expand its opportunities in the global marketplace. As a founder of the North America SuperCorridor Coalition (NASCO), the region is recognized as a transportation and logistics center and the "Hub of North America."

Through prestigious international conferences such as North America Works and Futurallia, our efforts bring global entrepreneurs, international leaders and experts to the region while simultaneously strengthening and promoting our global assets, reputation and brand.

The North America Works + National Forum on Trade Policy 2009 Conference was held Nov.4-6, 2009, at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in Kansas City, Mo. The focus was “Enhancing North America’s Competitiveness in a Changing World.” Experts on trade and transportation from the U.S., Canada and Mexico explored this competitiveness and discussed trade policy and other pressing issues facing North America. In addition, satellite sites throughout North America were led by MARC and KU CIBER. David Sanger, chief correspondent with the New York Times, was a keynote speaker.
