Douglas County, Kan. recently purchased a John Deere tractor with loader/mower for $15,028.97.
City of Raytown, Mo. recently purchased a 2007 Type III Ford E450 Ambulance from Taylor Made for $92,285.
City of Belton, Mo. recently purchased an Ingersoll Rand vibrator roller for $46,636.88 and saved between $14,000 and $16,000 in addition to administrative savings.
The KCRPC is also affiliated with the Houston-Galveston Area Council's (HGAC) cooperative buying program. HGAC has been in the cooperative purchasing business for more than 30 years. Their experience and volume purchasing power can provide significant savings for local governments on major equipment purchases.
The HGAC has a database that includes items such as heavy equipment, ambulances, fire trucks, buses and mowers.
It is available to area local governments, often at considerable savings over local bids.
