Timeline for Smart Moves Update

Here is a general outline of the Smart Moves Update project.

1. Roll out Smart Moves Plan Update (May–June 2007)
2. Background research and plan review (May–June 2007)
3. Identify transit needs and objectives (June–October 2007)
4. Summarize and formulate draft service and strategy options
   (October–November 2007)
5. Evaluate alternatives (November–December 2007)
6. Revise and adopt the plan (January–March 2008)

 

 

By the People Engagement

In October 2007, Consensus and Kansas City Public Television (KCPT) will convene a By the People event in Kansas City. During the day of deliberation, more than 100 randomly selected citizens will consider different ways to approach the issue of regional transportation. By the People is a multi-city, national effort led by MacNeil/ Lehrer Productions. In November, KCPT will broadcast a prime-time special on the local event, with a national PBS broadcast to follow in January 2008. MARC will help coordinate this project.
