Director Credential
The Metropolitan Council on Early Learning collaborated with key stakeholders throughout Kansas and Missouri on the development of the Kansas and Missouri Early Childhood Director Credential.
The credential provides directors with a pathway to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities they need to be successful in the early learning industry. The credential will also provide a system to recognize and document these achievements.
To earn the credential, directors must meet specific criteria in general education, teaching and learning knowledge and skills, management and leadership knowledge and skills, experience, and professional contributions. The requirements and competencies for the credential can be accesses on Mid-America AEYC website. The credentials agency for the Missouri Directors Credential is AEYC-MO. The credentials agency for the Kansas Directors Credential is the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
