Daytime Population (67k, updated 3/30/06)
The first release ever of daytime population estimates from the US Census Bureau has several limitations. Primarily, the data show only workers age 16 and over who commute to work during daytime hours; commuting at other hours, or for other reasons (school, shopping) is not included. Therefore, the data cannot be compared to commuting patterns using the Census Transportation and Planning Package. Areas include the US, Kansas, Missouri, the MSA, the CSA, and Douglas County, as well as cities with either 2,500 workers living or working there.

Other Source Data
These data sets are from sources other than the US Census Bureau. They include: 1) data from the states; 2) data from other federal departments; 3) MARC reports from these non-census data; and 4) private source data, purchased by MARC to enhance our databases, and made available in summary form.
Births and Deaths
An important building block in the production of population estimates is found in administrative records of births and deaths. An increase or decrease in either one or both indicators must be examined to determine a trend or an aberration.
To facilitate use of these data sets, they have been divided by geographic levels:
States and Counties (230k, updated 07/26/11) - includes selected characteristics for Kansas and Missouri, the 17 counties in the Kansas City-Overland Park-Kansas City CSA and Douglas County, KS (Missouri through 2008 and Kansas through 2010) with some data going back to 1911.
Selected Cities (88k, updated 07/26/11) - includes, among others, the largest cities in the CSA, most starting in 1980 (Missouri through 2008 and Kansas through 2010).
ZIP Codes (927k, updated 12/15/10) - includes all the ZIP codes in the CSA from 1980 through 2008.
