Births and Deaths
An important building block in the production of population estimates is found in administrative records of births and deaths. An increase or decrease in either one or both indicators must be examined to determine a trend or an aberration.
To facilitate use of these data sets, they have been divided by geographic levels:
States and Counties (220k, updated 03/26/09) - includes selected characteristics for Kansas and Missouri, the 17 counties in the Kansas City-Overland Park-Kansas City CSA and Douglas County, KS through 2007, with some data going back to 1911.
Selected Cities (80k, updated 03/25/09) - includes the 57 largest cities in the CSA, most starting in 1980 and continuing through 2007.
ZIP Codes (905k, updated 03/26/09) - includes all the ZIP codes in the CSA from 1980 through 2007.
Crime (510k, updated 12/01/10)
Crimes and arrests reported by county and city in the Kansas City CSA and Douglas County. Most data sets start in 1983 and continue through 2009.

Crimes reported by Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) and principal cities within the areas starting in 2000 through 2009.

US Census Bureau's Small Area Health Insurance Estimates (SAHIE) of people with and without health insurance. These experimental measures area available for sevral years between 2000 and 2009, but are inherently different because they are part of an ongoing program that revises and improves the measurements.
