Mother-daughter carpool wins day four of RideShare’s Smartest Carpool contest
Seventy-four carpools representing 185 commuters in Greater Kansas City are competing in the region’s first Smartest Carpool contest, hosted by the Mid-America Regional Council’s RideShare program. The contest runs April 19–23, challenging area carpools to tackle transportation trivia on the morning commute for a chance to be entered in daily prize drawings.

Each carpool member should have a chance to express his/her needs and concerns.
Prospective carpoolers should agree upon on certain ground rules at the
outset. Examples include:
- food/drinks
- smoking and perfume/cologne use
- cell phone use
- radio choices
- how long drivers will wait for delays
- driving safety
- how and when other carpoolers will be notified about changes (e.g., illness, family emergency, vacation, meetings, unexpected overtime)
