Imagine KC ties sustainable practices to economic health

November 17 episode explores the economic benefits of sustainable development

Tune in to KCPT on November 17 at 7:30 p.m. for a new episode of Imagine KC for a roundtable discussion about how sustainable development practices can help build a healthier, more efficient local economy. Members of the region's Creating Sustainable Places Coordinating Committee will share their thoughts and insights on the topic, and provide concrete examples of how planning for the region's future focusing on vibrant centers, connected corridors and natural resources conservation can benefit the economy by:

Creating Sustainable Places is a regional initiative to develop a path to a more sustainable future. Its coordinating committee includes many partners from the private, nonprofit and public sectors and addresses many aspects of what makes a region great and how to bring about sustainable transformations.

The Imagine KC television series is co-produced by KCPT and Mid-America Regional Council, and intends to present a comprehensive view of our changing region and the opportunities to create a more sustainable future. Episodes educate the public about specific issues, policy options and how communities are meeting challenges; envision positive changes; and engage the community in decision making.
