Green Impact Zone Community Event and Information Fair

What:               The first Green Impact Zone community-wide event and information fair for residents, with special guest Tom Joyner, host of the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show.

When:              Saturday, Dec. 5, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Note: Tom Joyner will be available for media interviews from 2 to 2:30 p.m.

Where:             Paseo High School, 4747 Flora, Kansas City, Mo.

Who:                Information will be available in more than 50 booths for residents of the zone to learn about opportunities related to weatherization, home ownership, energy efficiency, jobs and job training, youth programs and more.

Workshops for residents will include:

• Kansas City Power & Light — Smart Grid and Do-It-Yourself Weatherization
• City of Kansas City, Mo. — City Weatherization Program
• U.S. Census Bureau — Census 2010: Step Up and Be Counted
• Gary Dumas, Man2Man — A Transformational Discussion
