The Kansas City Mo., Police Department, MARC Public Safety and other public safety agencies invited Missouri legislators to tour the city's newly remodeled communications center to give them a better understanding of how emergency communications centers operate in the MARC region.

In June 2011, the Missouri House of Representatives established an Interim Committee on 911 Access, which is currently preparing a report on the status of and challenges facing 9-1-1 emergency communications systems in Missouri.

Missouri PSAP managers answered questions and spoke with legislators to help prepare them for discussions about regional approaches to 9-1-1 services.
