Professional Development Series — March

Temptations of Leadership

March 20, 2008
11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Mid-America Regional Council offices

The greatest challenge in holding a leadership role is to avoid getting trapped by the daily complexities and details of an agency. To rise above that challenge, leaders must embrace behaviors that allow them to stay focused on their goals. These behaviors are difficult to master, not because they are complicated, but because each presents a corresponding pitfall to which people are naturally attracted. In personal life settings, these tendencies may not be seen as frailties, but in a leadership position, they are poison. Explore in this session what it takes to stick to the path taken by successful leaders.
