TTY Training
Course Description:
Communicating with the hearing-impaired can be a challenge, especially in an emergency. This training meets the Department of Justice standards for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The four-hour seminar will provide participants with the basic information they need to understand how a TTY works and will expose them to the unique culture shared by the hearing-impaired community. Commonly used abbreviations and terms most often used by hearing- and speech-impaired persons will also be presented.
