Dealing with Death and Trauma for 9-1-1 Professionals
Course Description:
The stress and grief that comes when dealing with death can be extremely difficult to handle. This four-hour course will deal specifically with 9-1-1 calltakers/dispatchers and how the stress of death and trauma may affect them personally and professionally. Those who handle critical incidents reported via 9-1-1 or public safety radio are sometimes overwhelmed by the death of a family member, a responder in the field or a co-worker. This presentation will show students how to recognize when they or others need help dealing with a difficult circumstance.
