Disaster Communications
Course Description:
This eight–hour course deals with the main types of disasters (transportation, HazMat and severe weather) that may be encountered in the 9-1-1 center. Participants will receive an overview of each type of disaster and will be exposed to several scenarios where they will have to decide how to respond. Specific information is provided regarding obtaining critical information from callers. Students are also provided helpful suggestions to offer a caller in such incidents.
