Spanish I for Telecommunicators
Course Description:
Telecommunicators should be prepared to serve the Spanish-speaking members of the community that may call 9-1-1. This eight-hour course is designed to train non-Spanish-speaking dispatchers in basic Spanish phrases needed to identify and assess the nature of an emergency call. The program will also cover basic Spanish questions and responses for Emergency Medical Services (EMS), fire and police situations. Cross-cultural issues will also be addressed.

Credit: Missouri Certified Telecommunicator Training -- 8 hours
