Point of Contact Training for Tactical Interoperable Communications
The ability of public safety responders to communicate across jurisdictional boundaries is one of the most compelling challenges in multi-jurisdictional emergency response. Area law enforcement, fire, emergency medical service, state and federal agencies are working together to enhance interoperable communications.
Course Description:
This three-hour, train-the-trainer course is designed to provide the individual designated as the point of contact (POC) with the tools and knowledge to familiarize his or her agency staff with the content and use of the region’s Tactical Interoperability Communication Plan (TICP).
The TICP provides operational direction and technical data for the use of regional interoperable communications systems and resources.
Guided group discussion and course material will be facilitated by the region’s Communications Coordinators (COMCs) and will cover:
- interoperability solutions
- regional resources
- procedures for requesting regional resources
- responsibilities
- future solutions
Who should attend?
One representative from each public safety and/or emergency services agency in the MARC region should attend:
- Police Chiefs
- Fire Chiefs
- Emergency Management Directors
- Communications Managers/Supervisors
- Public Safety Trainers
- Telecommunicators
