Participant Emissions Savings
Since the Take a Break program started, participants have:
- Reduced their driving by 462,727 miles
- Prevented 3,026 pounds of smog-forming pollutants from entering our air
- Saved 212 tons of carbon dioxide
- Saved enough miles to travel to the moon and almost all the way back
- Saved an amount of carbon dioxide equal to what 65,638 trees would consume in a month
Vehicle emissions contribute to the formation of local ozone pollution, and carbon dioxide is the primary contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.
Thanks to all our participants for helping our region breathe easier!
