Take a Break from the Exhaust FAQs
Why should I participate in Take a Break from the Exhaust?
Take a Break is a chance to see the results of your actions! Every time you share a ride, walk to lunch, or commute during off-peak hours, you’re improving air quality and avoiding traffic congestion. And this summer you’ll have the chance to win prizes for participating!
How do I use Take a Break?
It’s easy.
- First, get the code for your company’s team from your organization’s coordinator.
- Click on the button in the upper right corner of this page that says “Login.”
- On the “TAKE A BREAK FROM THE EXHAUST” page, click the link at the top, “Sign up here.”
- Create a user ID and password and complete the short survey.
- You’re ready to record your activities!
How do I report my activities?
Click on the “Login” graphic in the upper right corner of this page. After you log on, you will see a calendar for the current month. Click on any day prior to today’s date and select the actions you took. Each activity earns a certain number of points; riding the bus to work, for example, is 4 points. Staying in for lunch is 2 points. You’ll also record how many miles of driving you saved that day. The database will calculate your total vehicle miles and harmful pollutants prevented.
How do I see the results for myself and my team?
You individual results will be at the bottom of the calendar. Click on the “Your Team” button to see how your team is doing.
How can I win?
