Information Fairs

RideShare's purpose is to provide alternative transportation information to commuters — whether carpooling, vanpooling, bicycling, using public transit or walking. RideShare regularly works with nearly 150 employers and schools in the Kansas City region. Why Host an Information Fair?

Since more than half of the commuters who join the RideShare program become aware of it through their company or school, RideShare representatives try to visit as many organizations as possible. Informational fairs are RideShare's best means of reaching commuters to offer them information about transportation alternatives.

Commuters may find it overwhelming to research transportation options on their own time. Scheduling RideShare representatives at a transportation informational fair ensures that your employees' questions will be answered and their transportation worries will be alleviated. Representatives can individually assist employees in selecting commute options that best fit their lifestyle and schedules.

How to Set Up an Information Fair

Hosting a transportation information fair at your organization's location is easy. Call 816/842-RIDE to speak with our Outreach Coordinator. RideShare can schedule an informational fair at your convenience — as soon as possible or months in the future. Holding fairs mid-week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) tends to provide the best results.

After determining the date and time for your fair, RideShare staff will contact all transit agencies that serve your particular area. The agencies will plan to send representatives with schedules, routes and other information to distribute to your employees during the fair.

RideShare can provide your organization with posters, announcements, paycheck stuffers and other promotional materials to inform employees of the upcoming event. After the fair, RideShare can help you evaluate what worked best and what could be improved when planning the next transportation informational fair.
