I-70 considered for Corridors of
the Future Program |
MARC has submitted a letter of support for a proposal to designate I-70 as a “Corridor of the Future,” a federal program to reduce congestion on some of the nation's most critical trade corridors. Destination: Safe Coalition approves safety projects for FY 2008 |
The Destination: Safe Coalition recently accepted FY 2008 applications to fund strategies that reduce fatalities and serious injuries in the Kansas City region. Transportation safety-related projects proposed by local sponsors were selected to receive $128,440 in anticipated Missouri funds, and several others are recommended for future Kansas funding. Board approves changes to MPO boundary |
| In May, the MARC Board approved changes to the Metropolitan Planning Organization boundary. All of Cass County has been added to the boundary, and MARC has modified language on the boundary in Platte County to clarify that I-435 is inside the MPO boundary More ›› |

MARC to develop regional crash-mapping tool |
MARC has contracted with PB Americas, Inc., to develop a regional crash-mapping software tool that will geolocate crash data provided by the Kansas and Missouri Departments of Transportation, including crashes on state and local roads. The tool is expected to provide a comprehensive base of information so resources can be put to better use addressing safety issues. More ››

U.S. 24/40 Corridor Study to hold final public meeting on 30-year master plan |
The U.S. 24/40 Corridor Study team will present final recommendations for a 30-year master plan for managing the corridor at a public meeting in mid-July. The master plan will then be presented to each of the governing bodies in the study area for adoption. More ››

MoDOT gathering input on kcICON project through community survey |
The Missouri Department of Transportation has qualified two design-build teams to compete for the contract to construct I-29/I-35 highway improvements and a new landmark Missouri River crossing. Proposed changes to regional transportation programs approved |
In May the MARC Board of Directors approved changes proposed to the region's Long-Range Transportation Plan and the 2007 Unified Planning Work Program. These include a new security chapter and updated language in the LRTP and the addition of transit tasks in the UPWP. More ›› |
